Last week we had our office warming. Walked in and someone had sent us a cake from a company called daymaker. Genuinely the best pitch I've seen this year. Took the meeting before I'd finished a slice.

Ten cakes, ages 0 to 4 hours, killed at sunrise.

The cakes, photographed at 9:14am PT outside the Y Combinator campus.

Y Combinator S26 opening day. Ten cakes. Ten partners. The forecast had said partly cloudy.

It started raining at 9:14 in the morning. By 10am, ten cakes looked like the photograph above.

A spokesperson for Daymaker Operations said: “We delivered them anyway. Two of them got meetings.”

In lieu of flowers, please send another cake.
